Beat the heat with indoor ski resorts

You’ve tried all the tricks to stay cool this summer. The rolladens have been down so long, your house has started to resemble a cave and the family pet has permanently relocated to the basement. The fan motors are starting to whine from being in perpetual use.

You might find yourself actually craving winter.

Fresh powder and cold crisp air. It might sound like a wishful dream in the summer heat of July and August – but it’s a wish that can come true with these indoor ski resorts!

Snowhall, France – Perfectly situated on the border of Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium, Snowhall offers the longest indoor ski track in the world at 2,034 feet. Featuring slopes, a toboggan run, and tubing – Snowhall offers winter fun for the whole family, even if it’s 95F outside.

You can even take a virtual visit on Snowhall's website to “test the powder” before you go.

SnowWorld – locations at Langraaf and Zoetermeer, Netherlands

Just over the German border in the Netherlands is the world’s largest indoor ski resort, offering two ski destinations year-round. Even in August heat, the temperature at SnowWorld remains a crisp 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Complete with lifts, steep slopes and daily fresh powder, the only thing missing from these resorts is you. They even offer kids birthday parties and a teen adventure camp!

Not to worry if your snowboard and skis have been stashed away in the garage or attic – each resort also rents winter gear.

You don’t have to wait for the slopes to open at these resorts – they’re open year-round!
