All aboard the HotTug

What do you get when you mix a boat and a hot tub? A HotTug, naturally. This nautical expression sets sail in six locations, including London, Rotterdam, Helsinki and Zurich – with more locations in the works.

Thanks to a Dutch start-up, travelers are no longer limited to seeing a city’s canals and waterways by mere boat and can experience relaxation in true style. The HotTug vessel is a wood-fired hot tub boat that can either be sailed or powered by an engine.

Capacity is six to eight (but you can sail with as few as two, for a romantic sojourn) – and you will need to designate a sober skipper to guide your boat. But, not to worry if no one wants to volunteer for skipper duty. You can ‘add a skipper’ to your boat rental during the booking process, and a company skipper will meet you when you pick up the boat.
