PCSing to a foreign country is stressful enough for families. When you couple that with trying to find employment, it can be a nerve-wracking and frustrating process. Overseas, jobs are scarce for military spouses, especially in Italy where there are far stricter rules for working abroad.

Aviano Air Force Base has a federal work-study program, in hopes of alleviating some of that stress on military spouses. It’s a program that offers the opportunity to develop or sharpen professional skills while receiving compensation as an earned education benefit. They also offer flexible hours to accommodate your schedule.

Some of the part-time positions available through the program are library assistants, education center assistants and federal voting officer assistants.

Requirements are listed online and the Veterans Benefits Administration must approve applications. If you’re interested in applying, you can swing by the A&FRC, building 1431 or call DSN 632-5407 or (39) 043-430-0547. Positions are first come first served.
