Nothing screams fall like heading to a local orchard to spend the day picking apples and basking in the last rays of warm sunshine. Appel Happel in Mainz-Marienborn, Germany is the perfect place to do exactly that. This family-owned business is providing visitors with locally grown, quality fruit and great experiences to boot. Both children and adults alike can enjoy a day outside picking apples and spending time with their families.

From mid-August until the end of October, you can pick from 15 varieties of apples including Topaz, Jonagold, Wavy, Fuji, Braeburn and more! If apples aren’t really your thing, try picking plums or pears instead. Younger guests will delight in various entertainment options and adults will love wandering through the farm shop and picking out all sorts of locally sourced foods. The farm shop includes items like vegetables, grain, honey, free-range eggs, homemade sausage and ice cream, amongst other things.

Appel Happel is open Monday - Thursday from 9:30 a.m - 1 p.m. and 3 - 6:30 p.m., Fridays 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sundays in September and Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. with the courtyard cafe. Plan your visit today for the perfect fall family outing. You get to spend the day outside and return home with some delicious, local apples.
