Two cute Christmas market mugs with pink gingerbread men

Market Mug of the Week: Metz (Kristen Thoennes (Facebook))

Kristen Thoennes, thank you for this photo of the adorable gingerbread man market mugs! Not only do visitors get the vibes of a traditional German Christmas market at Marche de Nöel à Metz, but also get to experience plenty of French flair.

Check out the Metz Christmas market spread across five squares from Nov. 21–Dec. 30, 2025.

The five squares all offer visitors something different. Place d’Armes has the “Big Wheel,” a large Ferris wheel you can ride to view the city from above. Place de la République has an ice-skating rink. For chalets, a merry-go-round, local crafts and gastronomy, head to Place Saint-Jaques. To walk around a charming medieval square and admire a Christmas tree, visit Place Saint-Louis. And, for the foodies, head to the gourmet square at Place de la Comédie. There is also a special light trail “Sentiers des Lanternes.”
