Heads up: Road closures in the KMC
Drivers and residents in Landstuhl and Weilerbach will need to add a few extra minutes and patience during their daily commutes. Two construction projects will cause portions of main thoroughfares to be closed for an extended period of time.
Beginning March 27, portions of Mackenbacherstraße, Rummel- and Hauptstraße will be closed through April 30. Crews are expanding the roadways and widening sidewalks along L356/K13. A new traffic light is also being installed, and a section of the city’s water line is being replaced. There are several detours in place, and bus traffic will be impacted. Starting in early April 2017, a 500-meter section between Von-Richthofen-Straße and Poststraße will be closed. City workers will be upgrading the sewer and drainage lines beneath Kaiserstraße and Poststraße. They will also be performing maintenance and refurbishment on the canal. This project is slated to run through mid-September 2017.
