Chestnuts roasting, snowflakes falling and twinkling lights all aglow are on the near horizon. You know what that means? It’s time to do some serious Christmas shopping! Whether you’re getting ready to spoil the kids, delight your significant other or treat yourself, there’s no time like the present to get started. With local restrictions changing daily due to Covid-19, stay within your host nation and shop in these big cities.

Munich, Germany

Head to Bavaria’s capital city for some unusual concept stores. Here you’ll find vegan fashion, beautiful stationery, vintage clothes and traditional gifts. For outlet shopping, be sure to visit Ingolstadt Village, just outside of Munich. Here you’ll find boutiques like Polo Ralph Lauren, Asics, Prada, Superdry and more. Whether you’re searching for clothes, perfume, jewelry, watches or shoes, you’re sure to walk away happy with your purchases.

London, England

For some serious savings, Bicester Village is the place to go. Located just an hour outside of London, this village boasts 160-plus boutiques with discounts up to 60% off. Boutiques include Belstaff, Mulberry, Sweaty Betty, The White Company, The Cosmetics Company Store and more. Inside the city, you’ll find Covent Garden, which is delightful during Christmas. The decorations are over the top, and there are plenty of designer shops to peruse.  There is also a Disney store for kids or an Apple store for techies.

Milan, Italy

Why not head to one of the world’s most renowned shopping destinations for miles of designer stores, fabulous boutiques and outdoor markets galore? Major shopping streets like Via Monte Napoleone or Corso Buenos Aires are sure to be decked out in their Christmas finery, offering the latest fashions to consumers. Be sure to visit Artigiano in Fiera Dec. 5 – 13, open daily from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m., which has been celebrating artists and their beautiful creations for the past 25 years. This world arts and crafts event is sure to have the perfect gift for that special someone.

It’s 2020, so you might as well start shopping early, put up your Christmas tree, play Mariah Carey’s hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and bust out the eggnog because nothing makes sense anymore. Check your local travel restrictions before you pack the family in the car and don’t forget to pack a holiday-themed mask to make your experience extra merry.
