Get green thumb inspired in Heilbronn

If you live in Germany and want to tiptoe through the tulips and not go all the way to the Netherlands, head to Heilbronn. The village is hosting the country’s national garden show, The Bundesgartenshau, or BUGA, for short. 1 million flowers’ bulbs were planted in the area sandwiched between a split on the Neckar River. Millions are expected to visit the show’s wide array of landscapes, floral displays and water features. The show kicked off in April and the flowers will be in bloom through Oct. 6. You can visit the gardens seven days a week from 9 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. You can get your green thumb inspired by driving or taking the train. It’s definitely a family-friendly day trip worth taking.
