Baumholder Express opens Austin Blues Bar-B-Que Restaurant
U.S. ARMY GARRISON BAUMHOLDER – Soldiers and families at Kaiserslaurtern Military Community can get a sweet and tangy taste of home at the Baumholder Express.
USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Deputy Garrison Commander Dr. Kevin Griess joined local Army & Air Force Exchange Service leaders in cutting the ribbon on the Austin Blues Bar-B-Que restaurant located inside the Express. This is the Exchange’s fifth Austin Blues location, and the second at KMC—the Pulaski Express restaurant opened in 2019.
“While service members are overseas, they often miss a lot of the little things people back home take for granted, like favorite foods,” said KMC Consolidated Exchange General Manager Carl Carpenter. “It’s an honor for the Exchange to provide a taste of home for our community with Austin Blues Bar-B-Que.”
Soldiers and families can try slow-smoked menu items like pulled pork, brisket and ribs.
The Baumholder Express is Bldg. 8219, Smith Barracks and is open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
