Fun festivities at the Frankfurt Dippemess
With the arrival of spring comes the beginning of festival season. From the Hamburg DOM fun fair to Frühlingsfest in Stuttgart, Germany is waking from its winter slumber and celebrating spring in style. For those of us closer to the Wiesbaden and Kaiserslautern, check out the Frankfurt Dippemess. From now through May 1, 2017, experience one of the largest and oldest Volksfest in the Rhein-Main region.
Dating back to the 14th century, the Dippemess began as a medieval market selling pottery and ceramics. Today, the festival offers carnival rides, roller coasters and more than 140 vendors selling handcrafted goods, tasty regional treats and delicious Apfelwein — an apple infused wine made almost exclusively in the Frankfurt region.
