Get sporty while exploring Europe
Living in Europe is a dream come true if you have a heart for adventure and love being active. With so many countries and activities to choose from, it can be overwhelming to know where to begin. Wherever you are in Europe, your local Family & MWR Outdoor Recreation, Force Support Squadron Outdoor Recreation and leisure travel offices plan trips throughout the year for different destinations, fitness levels and budgets. Here are a few offered by Family & MWR Outdoor Recreation in Germany.
Hit the slopes
Every Saturday until the first week in April, Outdoor Recreation takes express trips to some of the best ski resorts across Europe. You can find yourself skiing in the breathtaking mountains of Austria, Germany or Switzerland. These trips are done in a single day, which makes them doable for even the busiest of people! If you’re lacking ski gear, no worries! Simply rent all the gear you need from MWR Outdoor Rec. Staff will help you get fitted and ensure you have all the right equipment.
Fall in love with Switzerland
The Interlaken Express trip can easily cross off many adrenaline-packed adventures on your bucket list. Pick between 72 waterfalls to hike alongside, paragliding, zip lining, cifff walking and more. Getting around Interlaken, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen is easy because they are within 30 minutes of one another. While you’re there, don’t forget to indulge with cheese fondue.
Take on a family-friendly ropes course
If you want an adventure for the whole family, Fun Forest Ropes Course and Pirate Island is the trip for you! Children must be at least 170 centimeters tall to explore the courses on their own. Little ones not meeting the height requirement must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There are eight challenging ropes courses to choose from that range from beginner to expert. Be ready for numerous obstacles, zip lines, rickety bridges and more. Taking on a challenge has never been this fun!
Canoe Germany’s beautiful rivers
Canoe trips are the easiest way to experience Germany’s Sauer, Glan, Mosel and Nahe rivers. On your journey, you will pass castles, vineyards and fairy-tale towns, making it a trip you will never forget. If you’re not a canoeing professional, no problem! You don’t need experience to tag along on these trips. Your guide will give you the instruction necessary to have a great time.
