The Weinmarathon doesn’t mean you need to run 26.2 miles, but it does mean a lot of wine. On Saturday, April 8, this marathon or half-marathon (which every you choose) means 10-20 wine tastings from wineries around Mainz. Twenty-one wineries will be set up throughout Mainz city center, starting at Gutenbergplatz and going to Hof der Proviantamt.

Half-marathon tickets are 10 euros for 10 tastings, and marathon tickets are 20 euros for 20 tastings. The course opens at 2 p.m. Saturday, and there is a finisher’s party at 6 p.m. for everyone who finishes the marathon. Included in the price is a return trip to the city of Mainz/Wiesbaden. Advance tickets are on sale now and can be picked up at Tourist Service Center, LUUPS shop, Rheinhessen-Vinotheque, Farm shop Kraut & Vines, Hofladen Weingut Eckert and participating winemakers.
