Khao Thai is near Vogelweh in Kindsbach, Germany. Traditional décor from Thailand adorns the tables and walls of the upscale dining room. The menu features a dozen curries. My favorite is Gaeng Ped with crispy duck. —By Genevieve Northup

Every Friday evening is Schnitzel Night (Schnitzelabend) at Restaurant Steinalb in Bann. Rumor has it, the savory homemade sauces make this some of the best schnitzel in Kaiserslautern. I can’t say I disagree. — By Courtney Woodruff

For an easy dinner, make slow-cooked sweet and sour cabbage and pork in a crock pot. Find the recipe at StripesEurope.com. — By Will H.
