This year’s “Winter in Bavaria! Day Camp” for Cub Scouts will be held Feb. 10-12. The event is open to the entire district; however, Grafenwöhr, Vilseck, Ansbach and Hohenfels are the closest in proximity to the camp location.

The unique outdoor experience gives Scouts the opportunity to work their way toward the next rank while encouraging participation and personal growth. Attendees will take part in a variety of activities, which may include shooting sports (like BB guns and archery), nature activities, games and crafts — all in the shadows of the picturesque Bavarian Alps.

The event is open to registered Cub Scouts in first through fifth grades. Your son may join Cub Scouts before the start of Day Camp if not already enrolled in the program. Registration forms are available on the Edelweiss District web page at www.edelweissdistrict.org.

The cost of the Day Camp is $15 per youth, $10 per adult and $10 per 5- to 11-year-old sibling. The price includes lunch and dinner for Saturday and one event patch for the registered Cub Scout.

Interested in helping out with the event? There are more than 10 positions that need to be filled by parents and leaders of attendees. The camp would not be possible without its appreciated volunteers.

If you are willing to brave the cold, overnight camping is an option for an additional fee. For more information, contact Rodney Henk at rodney[dot]henk[at]scouting[dot]org.
