Wiesbaden-area events beginning this weekend
Looking for a few off-the-beaten path events in the Wiesbaden-area? Here are four options to check out:
The name says it all, and is not for the faint of heart. Get ready for a fascinating two-hour experience under an enormous tent transformed by the dark world. This circus will immerse you in the realm of the living dead, while 1,400 other daring souls sit on the edge of their comfortable seats around you. No animals in captivity here, just goosebumps on your skin as you encounter possessed vampires, acrobats and bewitched clowns. These macabre artists from all over the world are among the best of the best. The ballerinas are beautiful, but dangerous! Witness neck-breaking stunts, motorcycles and the wheel of death coupled with impressive laser shows. Contortionists will do impossible things with their bodies, but everything you experience here is real and happens right in front of your eyes. Tickets start at 20 euros and can be purchased online or after 2 p.m. the day of the 7:30 p.m. show.
Revel at this traditional medieval festival near the historic Witch’s Tower of Idstein. The event features medieval customs, merchants, musicians, arts and crafts and all things mystical for young and old alike. Young warriors can suit up and participate in a knight’s tournament, and all can enjoy the marketplace while watching potters, knife grinders, glass blowers, wood turners and salters at work. Dress in medieval garb and receive a discount on admission tickets.
