What's up weekend: Kaiserslautern and Wiesbaden June 9-11
Wondering what to do this weekend? We’ve got some great events in the Kaiserslautern and Wiesbaden areas lined up for you! Here’s what’s up:
Ramstein Wine Festival
June 9-10, Ramstein-Miesenbach
Sip your way through the wine regions of Germany, Italy and Spain! Tasting booths will be set up in the middle of Ramstein-Miesenbach. Relax and enjoy the outdoor air while sampling from one of the 20 varieties of wine offered.
June 10-11, Obermoschel
Step back into the Middle Ages at the Medieval Spectacle taking place at the Moschellandsburg castle ruins. Minstrels, noble knights, jesters, craftsmen and others show off their skill at this amazing reenactment. Stay for the procession by torchlight and a fabulous fire show on Saturday at 9 p.m.
June 11, Weilerbach
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the city center of Weilerbach is transformed into a fun farmer’s market. With livestock exhibits, entertainment and live music, there is something for every age. Find that small, unique souvenir from one of the 80 regional vendors, or just enjoy some of the tasty treats offered. Many stores in Weilerbach will be open for Sunday shopping noon to 5 p.m.
June 9-11, Wiesbaden
Check out the amazing performers at the 40th annual Wilhelmstraßenfest. A diverse array of talent, including musicians and dancers, will be taking the stage at this three-day festival. More than 140 local artists will be selling eclectic and unique wares. Taste fantastic eats from more than 120 international food booths. Cap the evening off with a dazzling fireworks display on Saturday night.
June 9-11, Bretzenheim
Celebrate the doughy goodness of one of Germany’s favorite food — the pretzel! For three days, enjoy live entertainment and music while snacking on different varieties of deliciousness. There will be plenty of activities for little ones, and more than 40 vendors selling handcrafted goods.
Goûte Food Festival
June 10-11, Wiesbaden
Be sure to bring your appetite to this foodie paradise! More than 40 restaurateurs will be offering gourmet delicacies at the Goute Food Festival. Portions will be small, so you’ll be able to try as many as you like! Admission is free.
