Try the catch of the day at the Ketsch Backfischfest
For more than half a century, seafood dishes — including walleye, trout, salmon, tilapia and even eel — have been deep fried in a traditional copper pot filled with 50 liters of hot oil for the annual Ketsch Backfischfest.
Now through Aug. 14, join other festivalgoers at one of the large picnic tables under the big tent, and dine on fried fish and seafood dishes while listening to live music. The Marquee opens daily at 11 a.m.
There’s fun to be found at the Backfischfest for kids as well. You can find street food vendors offering snacks and sweets, bumper cars, raffles and carnival rides at the nearby fairgrounds.
