Check out these amazing events happening this weekend in Kaiserslautern, Wiesbaden, Bavaria and Stuttgart!

Kaiserslautern

African Night
July 13, Ramstein

Feel like taking a trip to Africa without having to fly there? Say no more! Thanks to “Ramstein Summer Nights” this German village will transform into Africa for one special night. Held at the Haus des Bürgers, chow down on delicious African specialties provided by Die Bühne Backstage, drink traditional African beer and explore another great culture! The band Kevin, Alamba & Dynamix will also be there to get us dancing all night long. Admission to this event, which starts at 7:30 p.m., is free.   

French Garden Party
July 14, Kaiserslautern

You don’t have to travel very far to get your hands on all things French at the French Garden Party. Located at the Gartenschau in Kaiserslautern, enjoy an evening of enjoying French wine, bread, cheeses and much more! For updates on admission prices, check their event page. This fun party starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.

Holi Festival
July 14, Saarbrücken

All the colors! Holi, also known as the festival of colors, is an Indian festival that includes smearing friends and loved ones in color as they celebrate love, happiness and colors. Saarbrücken recreates this joyous occasion with techno music and of course, vibrant hues of reds, blues, pinks and yellows. Grab your friends and dance the day away. Don’t forget to bring a white shirt! Be sure to also buy your tickets before they’re sold out! The festival starts at 12 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.

Rooster Festival
July 14-15, Queidersbach

Considered to be one of the most anticipated festivals in the surrounding areas of Quidersbach, sink your teeth into a juicy yet crunchy roasted chicken cooked to perfection in large grills. Drinks and musical entertainment will also be provided. Note that due to popularity, the lines may be long, so make sure your stomach isn’t too empty before heading to this festival, which is located in the fairgrounds of Quiedersbach. 

Wiesbaden

Mainzer Bierbörse/ Mainz Beer Market
July 13-15, Mainz 

The banks of the Rhine near the Theodor-Heuss Bridge are a beer lover’s heaven through the weekend, as some 60 stands serve up a variety of beers brewed around the world and culinary specialties. Beers can be bought and consumed on the spot or taken home to enjoy later. Bands play on Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoon. Festival hours are 3 p.m.-midnight on July 13 and 14 and from noon until 9 p.m. July 15. Entry is free.
 
July 13-16, Hochheim am Main
 
This wine fest, described as one of the biggest in the Rheingau region, takes place in the old town and the courtyards of the town’s vintners. The program includes lives music and an arts and crafts market. On Sunday afternoon, many activities for kids are laid on. Fireworks cap off festivities at 11 p.m. July 16.
 
July 13-16, Geisenheim
 
This festival has four main areas: a “wine village” next to the Town Hall, “DomTown” with a party vibe next to the church, a zone where kids can have fun, and a “creative mile” where handicrafts are sold (open Sat. and Sun. only). In the evenings, bands play on two stages. Around 20 stands serve up the food and drink.
 
June 13-16, Mainz-Laubenheim
 
A pretty park is the setting for this wine fest in a suburb in the south of Mainz. The fest gets going at 6 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday. Laubenheim can be reached by both bus and train.
 
June 15, Eulchen Schlossbiergarten, Kurfuerstliches Schloss, Mainz
 
Who’ll be crowned World Cup champion this year? See who it all comes down to in a beer garden housed in the courtyard of the elegant red building close to the Rhine embankment. Kick-off is at 5 p.m. Entry is free, but each visitor age 14 or older must consume a minimum of 10 euros worth of food and drink.

Bavaria

Fürth Festival
July 13-15, Fürth

To celebrate 200 years of independence, Fürth will have music, food and fun. There will be comedians, an Italy festival in the Hall Square and even a “visions of rock” festival in the Green Market. Bring the family for some quality German festival experiences.

Old Town Festival
July 14-15, Merkendorf

Every two years Merkendorf celebrates with the old town festival. Starting Saturday at 6 p.m. there will be a beer tapping by the mayor. The party continues in the market square with music and much more. There will be a market on Sunday.

Vintage Pool Party
July 14, Nuremberg

Come see a variety of classic American cars during this Saturday night cruise event. Starting at 5 p.m. the outdoor pool area will be filled with classic cars and food trucks. Admission is 13 euros for adults and 7 euros for kids ages 6 to 17.

Stuttgart

Jazz Open
July 12-22, Stuttgart

Listen to international musicians like Lenny Kravitz and Gregory Porter during the Jazz Open in downtown Stuttgart. Festival passes are available. Tickets for individual performances are available online and start at 20 euros. Concerts are held in various places in both Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg.

Wine Festival

July 13-14, Bad Cannstatt

Spend an evening relaxing and enjoying delicious wines from Weinfactum. There will be music playing, food available and views of Stuttgart in the background. Admission is free.

Volkswagen Festival of Lights
July 14, Stuttgart

Join in the 67th annual celebration of lights at Killesberg park in Stuttgart. The highlight of the festival will be the fireworks show by Killesberg Tower set to music. There will also be an artisan market, hands-on activities for kids and food galore. Tickets are 16 euros for adults and 12 euros for children ages 7 to 18 and available online.
