What to do with used Christmas trees? Turn their disposal into a festival of course!

This Sunday, Jan. 6th, join the Weidenthal soccer club, FC Wacker, to watch a competition to see who can throw discarded Christmas trees the highest and farthest with the Knut Festival.

The Knut Festival is actually a Swedish tradition in which competitors hurl discarded Christmas trees in a test of athleticism wills.

The tree-throwing competition is comprised of three events:
- long throw,
- a sprint and,
- high throw.

Afterwards, the old Christmas trees will be piled up, bonfire style and burned.

Of course, no German festival would be complete with live musical entertainment, fireworks, food and drink.

The fun begins at 1:30 p.m. on the sports ground of the soccer club.

Note: Weidenthal is approximately 35 minutes (40 kilometers) from Ramstein Air Base.

Location:
Fussballplatz Weidenthal
Langentalstrasse
Weidenthal, 67475
