Protect your pooches: Razor blades found in dog bait near Ramstein
Earlier this week, a woman noticed a suspicious object protruding from her pup’s mouth while taking her dog on a leisurely walk around Miesenbach’s Seewoog. Upon closer examination, she realized it was something meant to intentionally harm her beloved pet: a treat with a razor blade hidden inside. Luckily, she trusted her instincts and was able to retrieve the bait before it could cause serious damage; but, unfortunately, her dog isn’t the first one to have fallen victim to this vicious act of animal cruelty.
The near-catastrophe serves as a reminder to be vigilant when we are out and about — even when we are in familiar places. Police warn dog owners to be on the look out for bait in public areas and even in the privacy of their own backyards. Incidents of poisoned treats being tossed over fences to harm pets in their homes have also been reported.
