Know before you go: Ramstein Bazaar
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 16, the flight line on Ramstein Air Base becomes a paradise for shoppers. During these four days, the massive hangars house more than 130 merchandise vendors — including several new ones — from all over the world. Featuring beautiful, handcrafted goods, wines, jewelry, art, pottery, woodcrafts, furniture and carpets, there is something for everyone! Here are a few things you need to know before you go…
The Ramstein Bazaar is located on the Ramstein Air Base flight line in hangars 1 and 2, and a large, white tent. The event is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Kids and pets
Thursday and Friday are designated “Stroller Days,” with stroller parking available outside the hangars and tent on Saturday and Sunday. There is a Kinder Korner available with a changing area for infants and toddlers. Please leave Fido and Fifi at home — no pets are allowed on the flight line or at the bazaar.
The Ramstein Bazaar is open to U.S. DOD and NATO ID cardholders only. Guests are welcome, but only cardholders may make purchases. There are many methods of payments accepted: U.S. dollars (no euros), checks, Visa and Mastercard. All vendors accept U.S. dollars. An exchange rate is listed at the bazaar, so if an item is listed in euros, you can easily convert to dollars. There are two ATMs on site.
