Get fit on World Fitness Day
Fans of fitness, sport and healthy lifestyles might wish to put on their favorite workout clothes and power their way to Frankfurt’s Commerzbank-Arena on July 13 or 14, the site of what its organizers bill as the world’s biggest fitness festival.
World Fitness Day, now in its second year, is expected to draw up to 40,000 visitors through its gates. Once there, they can discover the latest trends and innovations in the areas of fitness, sports, nutrition, and an active lifestyle presented across nine thematic zones. These zones are located both inside the stadium and under the open skies.
Thousands of people will simultaneously take part in various fitness classes, and a temporary set-up will become in effect the world’s biggest gym. The latest healthy snacks and superfoods are presented in the Food World. Prominent figures from the European fitness scene will be on hand to meet and greet their fans. Makers of fitness clothing and equipment display and sell their latest models. New this year is a “Beauty World,” where styling tips and tricks for looking one’s best while exercising are offered. Food trucks on-site will keep visitors fueled for their next workout.
The fitness classes and presentations offered across three stages introduce visitors to breakletics, yoga, Zumba, jumping fitness, the Pound Rockout Workout, cycling and many other ways to keep at the top of one’s game. The “fitness rock concert” on the Gym Stage will keep bodies moving to the beat. Attempts will be made to enter the Guinness World Records for the most people working out simultaneously in Kangoo jump shoes. A DJ from the Planet Radio station plays the soundtrack to a party from 8:50 p.m. to 11 p.m. July 13. For exact times of the demos and stage shows, check out a pdf copy of the program.
Event hours are 1 p.m.-11 p.m. on Friday, July 13 and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturday, July 14. Online tickets cost 29.70 euros adults/10 euros youth ages 8-16 for entry on July 13; 34.70 euros adults/15 euros youth for entry July 14; or 55.70 euros adults/ 23 euros youth for a ticket valid on both days. Children age seven and under get in for free. The Commerzbank-Arena is located at Mörfelder Landstraße 362, 60528 Frankfurt am Main.
