Two international football championships are happening simultaneously. In addition to Euro 2016, another football championship has been taking shape across the globe. The Copa América Centenario began on June 3 and will have its final match on June 26. What started with six teams from North America and 12 from South America, has now been whittled down to four remaining teams in the semifinals. Host nation, the United States, will face off against Argentina, who has been favored to win the cup. The winner of the match will go on to face the winner of Chile vs. Columbia. If you’d like to root for the U.S. team, you may need a little extra dose of caffeine. Match time is 3 a.m. on June 22 and will be aired on German cable.

However, if you’d like to catch your normal amount of sleep, root for your favorite European team in the Euro 2016, which is currently winding down the group stages. Teams will move into the knockouts rounds—the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final, which will be held on July 10 at the Stade de France in Paris.

Germany’s next match will be against Northern Ireland on June 21, 2016 at 6 p.m. If you want to take in a match, but can’t quite make it to France, or you’re not quite sure you want to spend an evening with 80,000 of your newest friends, check out some local viewing parties in the KMC area. Many of these viewings and specials will take place throughout the month. If you do partake, please be sure to have a designated driver, use public transportation, grab a taxi or call AADD (0631 536-2233) as a last resort.
