Looking for a few eggscellent Easter activities in the Kaiserslautern area? Hop to one of these fantastic events taking place. A little forewarning: Good Friday and Easter Monday are German holidays. Most stores and restaurants will be closed both days.

Story Time Egg Hunt and Craft Making
April 12, 11 a.m., Vogelweh Library
April 13, 10 a.m., Ramstein Library
April 14, 2 p.m., Ramstein Library

Head over to the Vogelweh and Ramstein libraries for story time, an egg hunt and some Easter craft-making fun!

Good Friday Fish Meal
April 14, Bruchmühlbach-Miesau (11 a.m.)

Help support the local fishing club with a Good Friday fish meal. Beginning at 11 a.m., diners can choose offerings such as fresh trout, spaghetti with salmon, calamari, roast potatoes and crispy Pommes frites.

Good Friday Hiking Tour
April 14, Vogelbach

With beautiful weather forecast for Saturday, grab your hiking boots and explore the Vogelbach area.  Choose between a 4- or 8-kilometer guided hike, starting at Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Vogelbach. Enjoy a tasty regional snack following the hike.

Teen Flashlight Egg Hunt
April 14, 8-10 p.m., Donnelly Park (ages 13-18)

Grab your flashlight, a bag and head over to Donnelly Park on Ramstein Air Base. Eggs full of candy, prizes and gift cards are hidden throughout the park. This free event begins at 8 p.m. and is open to teens aged 13-18.

Easter Event at Potzberg Wildpark
April 14-17, Foeckelberg

Take a walk on the wild side at Potzberg Wildpark in nearby Foeckelberg. Enjoy live entertainment, crafts and games for children. Each day, the Easter Bunny will hid eggs throughout the park for little ones to find.

Easter Egg Hunt
April 15, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Donnelly and Pulaski Parks

Two Easter egg hunts will be happening simultaneously — one at Donnelly Park, and one at Pulaski Park. The event will be split into three age groups: 0-4, 5-8 and 9-12 years of age. Each age group will start at a different time to ensure fun for everyone.

Easter Egg Hunt at the Rose Garden
April 15, 2 p.m., Rose Garden Zweibrücken

With more than 45,000 roses in bloom, the rose garden in Zweibrücken is a perfect place to celebrate spring. There will be an Easter egg hunt, along with a visit from Mr. Bunny himself.

Hippity Hop Lane
April 15-16, 1-3pm, Ramstein Community Center

Wanting to get that perfect (or maybe not-so-perfect) picture with the Easter Bunny? Swing by Hippity Hop Lane at the Ramstein Community Center!

Easter Spectacle
April 15-17, Mainz-Kastel

Looking something a little more rustic? Come out and enjoy the Easter Spectacle in Mainz. With a medieval market, crafts and live entertainment, there is something for everyone.

Easter Brunch
April 16, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Armstrong’s Club

Enjoy a sumptuous Easter brunch buffet with the Easter Bunny! Complete with a carving station, omelet station, and a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar for the adults, tickets are going quickly. Limited seating is available, so be sure to make your reservation in advance.

Easter Brunch Buffet
April 16, 10 a.m.-1:30 pm, Ramstein O’Club

With tasty offerings such as crab legs, poached salmon, juicy prime rib and freshly made desserts, celebrate the holiday with loved ones at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. Reservations for parties of eight or more are recommended. Advanced “fast pass” tickets are now available at the cashier’s window at the club.

Kids Easter Wall Crawl
April 16, 10-noon, Outdoor Rec, Ramstein

From 10 a.m. to noon, kids can unleash their inner-Spiderman at Outdoor Rec at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center (KMCC). Burn off excess energy (and sugar) by tackling the indoor climbing walls.

Easter at Gartenschau
April 16, Kaiserslautern

Grab your basket and head to the Gartenschau. Sweet treats have been hidden throughout the gardens, and need to be found! The festivities begin at 1 p.m.

Easter Event at the Zoo
April 16-17, Kaiserslautern Zoo

Enjoy a special program at the zoo, with animal presentations and a baby chick exhibit. Easter Sunday services are being offered, as well as guided tours of the grounds. An obstacle course, egg hunt and face painting will be available for little ones.
