SPECIAL SCREENING AND A PANEL DISCUSSION WITH THE ACTORS FROM BAND OF BROTHERS
Utah Beach Museum
Special screening at the Utah Beach Museum of a short film chronicling several Band of Brothers actors returning 18 years later to where they did their “bootcamp” or training for the series. Film is produced and introduced by Rick Warden, who played Lt. Harry Welsh. 30 minutes. Shot in England. Rick Warden’s short film will be followed by a panel discussion with the actors from Band of Brothers in the B-26 hangar at the Utah Beach Museum. The topic is Behind the Scenes of Episodes 2 & 3 of the series, Day of Days and Carentan. 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

FESTIVITIES IN CARENTAN
From 11:30 a.m. historical parachute jump with re-enactors from the “Purple Heart Lane” (subject to weather conditions). Around 140 men will jump from 7 C-47 planes on that historical place. 9:30 p.m. Concert of Nick Aaron (former actor of Band of Brothers series) and additional groups at the marina. 11:30 p.m. Closing evening with a firework fired from the marina.
BRITISH GARDEN OF THE CAEN MEMORIAL
Schedule to be specified: ceremony in the British Garden of the Caen Memorial, in the presence of veterans and British authorities.
PARACHUTE DROP OF REENACTORS
4:00 pm: Parachute drop of reenactors in WW2 uniform from a dozen of Douglas C-47 flying in formation, over the historical drop zone “N”, route de Bréville. Subject to favorable weather conditions.
Under marquees, near the seawall, concert by the Orphéon de Bayeux: tunes and songs from the 1940s.
HISTORICAL PARACHUTE JUMP
Pathfinders demonstration at la Fière. Paratroopers in charge of marking and secure jumps areas in the early hours of D-Day.

Reconstitution camp- June 5th to 10th (9:30am to 7pm): mini-plays by re-enactors. Historic vehicles exhibition – June 6-10: Dynamic display of the vehicles and the armored cars on the museum’s tank track. Scale modelling fair – June 6 to 10 (9.30am to 7pm) : Several associations will be exhibiting their creations on Battle of Normandy theme. > Signing session – June 8 (2 pm to 7pm): Meeting with a dozen authors whose works are devoted to the Battle of Normandy and the Second World War. > Bolt Action France Championship– June 8 to 10 (9.30am to 7pm): Second edition of the Bolt Action France Championship by the British company Warlord Games. Spectators will attend the Wargaming and role games.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF 47 ROYAL MARINE COMMANDO
ASNELLES À PORT-EN-BESSIN
On D-Day, 47 Royal Marine Commando landed on Gold Beach, near Asnelles, and set off on a 20km march behind enemy lines with the objective of liberating Port-en-Bessin. Start from Asnelles, main car park by the bunker. Arrival in Port-en-Bessin.

FESTIVE WEEKEND IN ARROMANCES
Commemorative overflight of 75 WWII PIPER L4 planes. Squadron flight of 3-6 planes for 1 hour.
From 2 p.m. to 11 p.m the songs of Glenn Miller and Andrews Sisters will remember Elvis Presley rockabilly and the famous Boogie- woogie. Visitors will come to sing and dance all day long.
PORT-EN-BESSIN CELEBRATES ITS LIBERATION
3 p.m. to 6 p.m. : Parade of historic vehicles with re-enactors wearing period outfits. 7 p.m. - Concert by Royal Marines Orchestra.
Swing, brass and big band... with the Hot Swing Sextet and then the Glenn’s Swing Orchestra, two major swing bands you will turn the clock back to the 1930s and 1940s and celebrate Liberation moments. Food available on site.

DDAY MEMORIAL PARADE
9 a.m. to 8 p.m: D-Day Memorial parade by Historic Programs with 3000 musicians from 15 American states. 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.: Musical performance by “les Refrains d’abords”.
ANIMATIONS DURING VINTAGE DAY
Parade through the streets around 2 p.m. Street animations and open-air dance in the park. Drinks available on site. Costume competition and concert by the Melon Jazz Band.

BRETTEVILLE-L’ORGUEILLEUSE, RUE DE CAEN
In an old style main street, come to see the liberation as you were there. A walk parade with civilians and soldiers dressed in 1940’s outfit preceded by a Scottish pipe band composed of 30 musicians will be followed by more than 150 civilian and military WWII vehicles and other surprises. Drink and souvenirs on site.

1:30 p.m. Festival Hall “Participation of the Native Americans in WWII”: An official Comanche delegation will introduce this culture and the role of the Comanche Nation, above all the Code Talkers, on June 6, 1944 and during the liberation of Europe. Presence of many descendants of Code talkers, Comanche soldiers and Native American veterans. 1:30 p.m. Stadium “Panoramic view over the Battlefield”: For the first time, a captive balloon, will provide a view over Tilly-sur-Seulles battlefield. According to weather conditions. 8:30 p.m. Stadium “Tilly-sur-Seulles remembers”: Brass Band concert playing 1940s music with the participation of traditional Comanches dancers and singers. Outdoor event followed by a firework and open-air dance.
SAND YACHT EUROPEAN CUP
Sand yacht European Cup as part of the 75th D-Day anniversary and the candidate file for sand yacht at the 2024 Olympic Games. More than sixty riders from all over Europe for a whole bustling weekend; visit of the artificial port by semi rigid boat, kayak and paddle, concerts, local products’ village, etc.

11 a.m. to 12 p.m: Introduction to Lindy Hop dance by P.Troussier from Rock’n Go.
2:30 p.m: Lindy Hop demonstration and Galaad Moutonz’ concert.

Parade of British historic vehicles and pipe bands in the main street of the first liberated town of continental France.
FESTIVE WEEKEND IN CARENTAN
Lunch time: Parade of military vehicles from Arizona Camp and arriving “place du Valnoble”. From 1p.m. (at the marina): Picnic and concerts by Duchess of Sing and Swing Shouters. Initiation to Lindy Hop dance. 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Nautical parade. Carentelle’s Choir singing 40s music.
BATTLE OF NORMANDY BOOK FAIR
For its 11th anniversary, the book fair will gather about 10 specialized publishers, more than 40 French and foreign authors including some veterans. A dozen of French and English booksellers will be there to introduce, dedicate and sell their books about 1944 Landings and the Battle of Normandy.
